PRESENTING: Healthy Heart the Musical. JOIN US!

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming production of Healthy Heart the Musical. Healthy Heart the Musical is set to premiere on June 21, 2023 at 6 PM. The musical is an engaging story that surrounds life's tipping point and the motivation needed in order to change one’s own lifestyle in a positive way. This production is filled with sensational music, intertwining stories, educational facts, and presented by a group of charismatic actors.


The play surrounds Guy, a man who feels that his life is currently approaching a tipping point, and he is unsure of what direction to follow. Up until this point, he feels that he has been making the wrong choices which results in Guy not feeling good about himself. Ultimately, Guy is worried about how he can be present in his daughter’s life. A surprise run in with a helpful role model guides Guy to focusing on conducting a healthier lifestyle. Guy starts to make healthier decisions, he learns from the societal influences around him, and ultimately grows confident in himself.


We invite you to learn about the amazing cast members who have made this production possible! Each person has dedicated time, shared their amazing talents, and are ready to entertain. Come join us on Wednesday June 21, 2023, at 6 PM at the club for the premiere of this amazing show! Can't wait to see you all there.


Dave S. as Guy

Dave is a facilitator within the CHIRS team for 21 years. Dave is a proud organizer of the Mentor program at CHIRS. Participants of the program Hootenany know that Dave’s go-to karaoke song is Wonderwall by Oasis as it is often played each session. As well, Dave is great at playing guitar, able to project his voice for everyone when singing, and can make weird noises with the back of his throat.









Kim G. as the Principal

Kim has continuously dedicated her time to the role, taking on a very important and caring piece in Healthy Heart the Musical. Kim’s range of tone allows for the audience to feel the sense of empathy directed toward Guy. Kim is kind and always welcoming to the rest of the group and a great entertainer in drama programming.




Josh M. as the Gameshow Host

Josh is a master at Wii Sports Bowling. He is often seen with a smile on his face, joking with those around him and uses funny gestures that add to his role. As well, Josh uses strong eye contact to engage with the audience in his role. Josh is always ready to showcase his dance moves and sing-along with the group, especially with his go-to karaoke song of Puttin’ on the Ritz by Taco.








Neil D. as the Motivational Speaker

Neil is a caring individual who enjoys sharing his talents through dance and drama performances. Neil has been a valued part of CHIRS Zoom programming sharing his great taste in music with the CHIRS community. He enjoys making surprising and unexpected sandwich combinations. Neil's innovative mindset would want to make new ice cream flavours including garlic bread or granola bar crumbs!







Peter C. as Stage & Prop Manager

Peter has showcased his talents in the cast organizing props and sets, especially with his secret superpower of fixing items! Peter enjoys spending time going for walks and listening to all kinds of music. Peter's top choice of ice cream flavour is Praline and Cream. Yum! If Peter could have a superpower, he would want to fly.










Sandra S. as Janet, the Therapist

Sandra is a dependable part of the cast who is always ready to lend a helping hand and enjoys sharing her amazing talents in dance and singing, especially to iconic 80's dance and pop songs. Weekly, she takes on the role as Abby in the CHIRS program Dear Abby, sharing valued insights. Sandra's other favourite activities include knitting and drama. If she could be a tree, she would want to be the determined and strong Willow tree.








Shannon Y. as Bob, the Game Show Contestant

Shannon’s welcoming character is often seen spreading happiness and smiles when working in the ADS Club. She is always ready to break out in song. When tasked with creating a novel ice cream flavour, she suggests a delicious combination of French Vanilla and Chocolate. As well, Shannon is a fan of early mornings, looking at the sunrise, and blossoming nature. If Shannon could have a superpower, she would make people happy!




Sharon S. as Mavis, the Waitress

Sharon contributes to the CHIRS community by helping everyone and sharing her charismatic personality. As well, she is an advocate for cooking and eating healthy foods (especially lobster). Sharon is a listener of all genres of music, and enjoys spending time playing the piano, knitting, and crocheting. Sharon prefers to watch the sunset as it signals that it is time for bed.








Simon A. as Good Start Man

Simon has a kind and generous persona. Monthly, Simon's shares his

powerful range of tone and voice in his podcast which he hosts with Dave S. On the podcast, he shares thoughts, stories, and connects with people. Simon enjoys cooking and eating soup and listening to music from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. If Simon could have a superpower, he would be able to control the wind!









Yvonne N. as the Director

Each week, Yvonne shares her enthusiastic and bubbly personality with the group. She is beyond helpful and kind. Yvonne has been a facilitator within the CHIRS team for 7 years sharing her talents in creativity, dance, drama, and so much more. Before this, Yvonne was a professional mascot. Yvonne loves pizza and if she could make her own flavour of ice cream it would be mint chocolate chip, with chocolate brownies. Thank you to Yvonne for being an amazing and organized director!
