Holiday Fun at CHIRS
Here at the CHIRS head office, we rang in the holidays the right way – with food, scavenger hunts, a party, and even more food! During our holiday programming, we hosted lots of holiday-themed activities. Leading up to Christmas, we had a holiday-themed scavenger hunt where Shawn and Jen were crowned champions in both the snowman building contest and the ‘Re-write the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge’ featuring a heavy fishing theme! We also hosted a cook and eat together progr

our yearbook
Early in 2025, we were given the green light to do a yearbook about CHIRS. We had an amazing team come together to work on the layout, take pictures, and add personal touches. The yearbook is filled with your favourite people and activities that happened over the past year - a reminder of this time in your life! Of special mention is the talented and super knowledgeable Mehreen who provided invaluable guidance. She was also integral in helping to revamp the BBN. Thank you,

BIST/CHIRS Halloween party!
This year’s Halloween party was full of energy and laughter! The All Pink Group brought the fun, dressed head to toe in pink and ready for every activity. The night was packed with games, singing, dancing, and lots of smiles. Everyone got creative with their costumes and joined in on the Halloween excitement. It was also my very first Halloween party at CHIRS, which made the experience even more special! As a co-op student, I loved seeing how much joy these events bring to cl

AA MILESTONES!!
Our AA meeting on October 23, 2025, was extra special! We celebrated two amazing milestones: Don M. received his 35-year medallion, and Dave A. celebrated one year of sobriety. Both shared how much the meetings and support from others have meant to them on their journeys. Dave was especially emotional as he thanked everyone for their encouragement. CHIRS and AA have shared a wonderful 10-year partnership, supporting individuals in their recovery and providing a strong sense o

Resilience
KIM AND HER CHEERLEADERS, BACK AT ART! Long time CHIRS client Kim recently spent some time in hospital. Friends from CHIRS rallied around Kim, staying in touch with texts and calls and even visiting her. Kim has had several setbacks throughout her years and always makes her way back to do things she loves at CHIRS: socializing in the club, singing at Hoots, dancing and leading art projects. We asked her how she bounces back and she shared. "No one's going to put me down.
