My life is not an open book. Not because I am keeping secrets. It is “closed” due to closed head injury memory issues.
One way to open the door is to look through old photographs that my beloved mother diligently collected and labeled prior to er passing.
I not only review them to see if they trigger memory recollection but to write the story behind them.
After all, the old adage is true – a picture is worth a thousand words.

I'm a little poppy crying out
Finding out what life is about
The scent of the earth, the dirt below.
The sweet scent of loved ones where I lie now.
Blood and wounds death and sorrow.
I don't see these souls but those of heroes.

And just like you, I go dormant in the winter; returning every spring to produce new ideas and attract new people;
