From Anguish to Hope: Jody’s book release
Updated: May 6, 2021
Hi family and friends,
I’m excited to announce that my book, From Anguish to Hope, has been published and is now available!
After my car rollover 24 years ago, while in a rehabilitation hospital in Erie, PA I read a book written by the mother of a survivor of a brain injury. At the time I was feeling very discouraged about my life, but the book showed me that it is possible to have light at the end of the tunnel.
Years later, when I moved into my own apartment, I thought I should write a book about my own life and recovery, and show how life after a brain injury can be successful.
I wrote the book while I was learning to deal with my emotions about my injuries and how my life had changed, while I was coming to grips with my new reality. I wrote a lot of it in poetry, because I found it much easier to express strong emotions in poetry rather than in long drawn out prose.
My life has changed dramatically since the time period I wrote about in this book, and have since gone on to compete at the Paralympic Games. After I finished writing, I started a new chapter in my life.
My book is now available in print and as an ebook at the following links:
