“Spill the Tea!”- Journaling

This group is new to the CHIRS’ weekly zoom programs. It was created by the ADS student, Musabbiha and started on November 19th. I attended the group on November 26th. I was welcomed, and I learned what journaling was, and more importantly, the benefits to journaling. Journaling offers participants the chance to write their thoughts and feelings on paper without any judgement. There is no expectation to share your entries with others. Staff are there to support and get you started. In this peaceful setting, soft music can be heard in the background. The picture below is of the group hard at work and thinking and writing, and the other picture is of Musabbiha illustrating how to set up for Journal entry 1. I can say, “This group, definitely, had a relaxing vibe to it.” All participants seemed to thoroughly enjoy it and many stated they felt good at the end of the group. Thanks to Musabbiha!

If you are interested to learn about journaling you can join the group on Friday mornings. Everyone is welcome. This video also explains journaling.
